About OOCSA
The Ovalau Outrigger Canoe & Sailing Association (OOCSA) is a registered nonprofit rooted in Fiji, created to uplift youth and strengthen local communities through outreach, mentorship, cultural exchange, and educational programs to empower those who want to empower themselves. We work hand-in-hand with government ministries, local civil servants, and local/foreign volunteers to bring sustainable support to the Lomaiviti islands!
Welcome to OOCSA
Donate & Impact
Every donation to OOCSA brings vital support to remote Fijian communities. From delivering Loloma Boxes with clothing, school/medical supplies, and food packs, to mentoring at-risk youth and supporting village health efforts, continuing education, first aid training and licensing, church/school upkeep, as well as village health and drug awareness initiatives. Your gift directly fuels programs that empower and uplift. Together, we’re making a lasting impact—one island, one family, one child at a time.

🌺 1. Glen Emberson (Shirley’s Husband)
Turning concern into action — a family’s call to protect the next generation.
As drug and abuse rates rose in their community, Glen and Shirley knew they had to do more than just talk. They turned to the ocean — and to OOCSA — to create a new path for island youth.
🌺 2. Shirley Emberson (Community Partner)
Empowering youth through faith, identity, and opportunity.
Shirley has seen firsthand what happens when young people are given guidance and purpose. Through skills workshops, community support, and OOCSA’s Loloma Box initiative, she’s helping turn struggle into sustainability.
🌺 3. Master Roy Fiu (OOCSA Volunteer)
Teaching beyond the classroom — preserving culture and building youth confidence.
With over 20 years of teaching experience across Fiji, Master Roy brings his heart for education into the canoe. His volunteer work with OOCSA helps keep maritime heritage alive while shaping the next generation of leaders.
🌺 4. Gabrielle Frank
A Mother’s Promise to Fiji
One life-changing day in 2019 turned a near-tragedy into a lifelong mission. When her son Jonah was lost at sea, it was the unity and love of the Fijian people that brought him home. From that moment on, Gabi vowed to give back to the islands that gave her family a second chance.
🌺 5. George, Catherine, and Katrina
